A photography timeline will help streamline your order in which your photos will be taken on your wedding day. This will ensure the photographer to capture all your big moments from the time you and your partner gets ready all the way until the celebrations. This will ensure everyone is on top of how the day will unfold as well as give you control of more or less who and what is captured. This can also be incorporated into your overall timeline to help with family members who need to know when the extended family photo's will be taken.
Send this to your photographer / videotographer / wedding planner at least a month in advance. You can send them an updated timeline a week before to ensure all last minute changes are included.

Here is a couple of things to consider to make it easier for you to draw up this timeline.

You also want to send a reasonable shot list to your photographer, do not waste to much time on this trying to get every aspect of the day, but do include important information like your grandfather had a hip replacement and can't stand for a long time etc etc. If there is any special decor like the memorial table or DIY items you spend hours making, include these so you make sure those are captured.
Then most importantly remember you are being photographed during the proceedings, so lift your head when walking down the aisle. Take a breath before speeches, but most of all, enjoy every minute. This is your special day please don't sweat the small stuff. Your photographer should be the one worrying about capturing your perfect shot, you pay him or her for it, allow and trust that.
Look at his / her website and facebook page, look at the references, then you know he / she's got this!

But most of all... have fun! It's your day to shine!
